Start Walking/¡A Caminar! Campaign

Start Walking/¡A caminar! is a bilingual communication campaign designed to help prevent diabetes by promoting increased walking. DPCP is collaborating with Walk Doña Ana in this campaign, which is directed toward Hispanic women in the Las Cruces area.

The media campaign consists of mailing a magazine and three follow-up postcards to approximately 4,000 Hispanic women in Las Cruces.

 

Background

The Start Walking campaign design and content was based on an extensive social marketing inquiry conducted with the target population (Hispanic women, ages 35-54, in the Las Cruces area).
